This is a 39 year old female who desired an improved abdominal and flank contour after having two children and gaining weight. After her previous pregnancies, she had excess loose abdominal skin and stretch marks below her umbilicus (belly button). In addition, she had a significant amount of excess fat on the abdomen and the flanks (love handles). Dieting and exercise did not improve her abdominal contour. She also had a large stretched-out umbilicus, but she did not have a hernia. She was a good candidate for a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and abdominal and flank liposuction.
Tummy Tuck Recovery and Scars
Her surgery went very well and about two months after the procedure, she started to exercise again and lost some more weight, which gave her an even better cosmetic outcome. She has a flat and tight abdominal contour without any stretch marks. Her belly button was made smaller and the extra folds of skin around it were removed. The before and after photos shown below were taken about 3 months after surgery. She is very happy with her result and her scar is low and completely hidden beneath her underwear.
