BREAST AUGMENTATION RECOVERY FAIRFIELD COUNTY CONNECTICUT

What is the Recovery after Breast Augmentation?

Breast Augmentation Recovery

At Jandali Plastic Surgery, we pride ourselves in making a breast augmentation as comfortable as possible.  All patients are given their prescriptions before surgery so that they are filled ahead of time.  At the end of the procedure, the patient is in the recovery room for a few hours before going home.

Pain after Breast Augmentation

At the end of the operation, you will be in a soft surgical bra for added support.  The recovery nurses will give you pain medication and Valium before being sent home.  We encourage patients to take the pain medication and the Valium around the clock for the first 24 hours.

Breast Augmentation Recovery Time

You are encouraged to be up and walking around the night after surgery to prevent clot formation in the legs.  You can shower two days after surgery.  Baths and swimming are not allowed for 6 weeks after surgery.  You will be seen in the office within a few days of surgery to check to make sure everything is healing well.  You will be seen again in the office two weeks later for a second check-up.  You will then be seen one final time 2-3 months after surgery to take the after surgery photos.

Exercise after Breast Augmentation

You will be able to resume light activity and return to work and driving 1-2 weeks after breast augmentation.  At 6-8 weeks after surgery, you can resume vigorous exercise and and any type of work out.
