Liposuction Recovery - Connecticut
At the end of the operation, the liposuction incisions will all be closed with small dissolvable sutures. There will be a gauze bandage placed over each incision to absorb any fluid that leaks out. You will be placed in a compression garment to apply mild pressure on all liposuctioned areas. There are no drains placed with liposuction. You will be given a pain medication and an antibiotic after surgery. You are encouraged to be up and walking around the night after surgery to prevent clot formation in the legs.
Liposuction Recovery Time
You can remove the gauze and shower two days after surgery. You will be seen in the office within a few days of surgery to check to make sure everything is healing well. It is recommended that you wear the compression garment at all times except when showering for the first few weeks after surgery.
Exercise after Liposuction
You will be able to resume light activity and return to work about a week after surgery. At a month after surgery, you can resume vigorous exercise and working out. You will then be seen one final time 2-3 months postoperatively to take the after surgery photos.
