Thermi Skin Tightening in Connecticut
Jandali Plastic Surgery offers Thermi for skin tightening for patients in Connecticut, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Shelton, Trumbull, Milford, and New Haven.
ThermiRF™ is the first FDA cleared aesthetic device that uses temperature-controlled radiofrequency for skin tightening. Before Thermi, the only way to tighten the skin without scars was with Thermage or Ultherapy. However, these are minimally effective and Ultherapy is notoriously painful. Dr. Jandali is now able to treat loose skin and cellulite on almost any area of the body by applying the “Science of Heat” using temperature as a clinical end point.
Clinical research studies show that the collagen in skin will shrink and remodel when heated to a sustained temperature over 40°C. Furthermore, it has been shown that when the skin is heated to this level, an inflammatory process is engaged which stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen over the months after treatment. This gives an improved contour, tighter skin, and fewer wrinkles. ThermiRF delivers precise amounts of heat, without risking overheating the tissues, thus avoiding patient discomfort.
Thermi250™ is the newest device through the company and it has multiple applicators to be able to treat from head to toe. The depth of treatment depends on the diameter of the applicator tip. For more superficial skin tightening treatments, a smaller applicator is used. For deeper cellulite or fat reduction, a larger applicator is used. Thermi250™ is a stronger device - about 10 x more powerful than the first generation ThermiSmooth.
ThermiSmooth in Connecticut
ThermiSmooth is a completely non-invasive skin tightening treatment. No needles or anesthesia are necessary. The ThermiSmooth hand piece can be used to tighten skin and decrease wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. Around the eyes, skin tightening and collagen remodeling can lift sagging eyebrows and help with excess upper eyelid skin. It also helps decrease the appearance of crow’s feet wrinkles. ThermiSmooth is performed in packages of 6 treatments, about 3-4 weeks apart. Results can be seen after one treatment, but optimal results are seen after 6 consecutive treatments.
How ThermiSmooth™ and Thermi250™ Work
After applying a small amount of gel to the skin on the treatment area, the ThermiSmooth™ or Thermi250™ hand piece is applied to the skin’s surface. The Thermi system is set to a specific target temperature (usually 42°C - 45°C). The hand piece is gently moved in a sweeping or circular fashion while gradually heating up the skin surface to reach the target temperature for a period of 5 minutes. The treatments are not painful and patients often say it feels like receiving a warm massage.
